Ulrike Brandi Licht | Hamburg [DE]
Ulrike Brandi studied Industrial Design under Dieter Rams at the Academy of Fine Arts (Hochschule für Bildende Künste) in Hamburg. From 1987 until now, she has initiated and carried out over 500 projects (in both interior and exterior spaces) in Germany and abroad. She has also released numerous publications surrounding the subject of light.
In cooperation with architects and landscape designers – as well as independently – Ulrike Brandi develops lighting concepts for the respective assignment from the alternating daylight cycle, which she sees – much like the surrounding landscape – as a characteristic of each specific place. Out of the need to secure a professional education as lighting designer, she founded the Brandi Institute for Light and Design in 2012.
