Maya Baklanova is a key representative of Ukrainian musical community. She is responsible for communication and co-curating Cxema - Ukrainian independent cultural organization generally known as the biggest rave party in Eastern Europe.
Cxema’s first events were held in Kyiv in the spring of 2014 in the conditions of almost complete cessation of nightlife caused by the political and economic crisis in Ukraine right after the Revolution of Dignity. Since then, parties have been held several times a year in various post-industrial locations in Kyiv. Organization of such events requires the interaction between musicians, architects, and artists, which turns rave into a meeting point and a point of cooperation among different groups and communities of progressive youth. Apart from being actively engaged in various offline and online outcomes of Cxema.
