Arcangelo Leone de Castris
DJ, Curator and booker at MACAO | Milan [IT]
Since 2013, Arcangelo is curator and booker at MACAO, the Milanese squat and cultural centre where he also holds a 5 years long DJ residency.
Although generally known as one of the main European hubs for progressive electronic music, in fact MACAO functions as framework for a much wider spectrum of activities, laying on the intersections between art, politics and economics.
Permeated by the lively, multifaceted nature of such environment, Arcangelo brought the same hybrid and politically-committed ethos into his personal academic path, researching fields such as commons, collective property and the role of active citizenship in collectively enhancing the sustainable and social value of the urban landscape, where both the Public Administration and private capitals have failed.
Graduated as Doctor of Laws in July 2019, he is now moving to Brussels to work as integrated assistant at the European Parliament‘s Committee on Transports and Tourism.
