Dr. Jordi Nofre Mateo

Jordi Nofre is Senior Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences, New University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona. His research includes three main topics: Nightlife and urban change in southern European cities / Social geographies of youth in Euro-Mediterranean countries / Societal dynamics in changing environments.

Jordi Nofre is Senior Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences, New University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona. His research includes three main topics: (1) Nightlife and urban change in southern European cities; (2) Social geographies of youth in Euro-Mediterranean countries; and (3) Societal dynamics in changing environments. To date, he has published a total of 54 publications, including Urban Research & Practice, Tourism Geographies, Cities, City & Community, Leisure Studies, Social & Cultural Geography, Area (2015) and Cultural Anthropology. Since its creation in 2014, Nofre coordinates LXNIGHTS, an international scientific network on nightlife studies to widening and spreading knowledge, know-how practices, exchanging research experiences, and promoting and launching new win-win joint initiatives between national and international scientific partners. Finally, Nofre has been Scientific Advisor of ‘SAFE!N Project: Safe Night Out Certification in Lisbon’, a BIPZIP Project funded by the Lisbon City Council. Currently, Nofre is also commissioning the creation and implementation of the future Lisbon Nightlife Commission.
